HANDYMAN/LIGHT CONSTRUCTION


When I needed a skilled handyman and general home maintenance helper to assist with several projects for my new-to-me 1960s-built home, I was incredibly lucky to find Dave with D.O. Home Services through a recommendation.

Not only does Dave have what it takes to tackle both little and big tasks, he has the critical thinking skills to anticipate what might be needed and makes valuable suggestions to achieve the results that I pictured for my home. I greatly valued his level of communication and, so very much, his reliability, honesty and heartfelt care and consideration. 

As a 55+ disabled person, there were many little things I needed done around my home, from hanging décor and hooks, proper and safe installation of bathroom grab bars and stairwell handrails, to adding knobs and handles on every single cabinet and drawer in kitchen, laundry and bathrooms. Among other things, he also changed out a light fixture, added insulation to my basement rim joists and installed missing junction box covers. 

I was terribly saddened when he moved out of my state. Finding a replacement with Dave’s expertise has been, quite literally, impossible…the shoes were just too big to fill!  What I’ve mentioned is not the entirety of the projects he completed, and if ever Dave returned to the northeast coastal states, I’d happily have him plugging away at my punch list. It is my pleasure to recommend Dave Ortolani for work in the fields of construction and handy work, including renovation project management, carpentry and a wide range of tasks around the home. 

When I purchased my new home last year, I immediately began my search for a skilled, trustworthy handyman. As a single senior citizen, I needed a lot of help to get the place in shape. Dave came highly recommended by a reputable local construction company owner. What good fortune to have found him! 

In addition to trustworthiness, Dave possesses many positive attributes and skills. Among them are dependability, pro-active problem-solving, time management, communication, coordination with other trades, and quality work. In his role as a humble handyman, no job was too small. He performed everything from snow removal to leveling my shed to installing coat hooks. I could always count on  Dave to take care of any urgent repairs around the house quickly and effectively!

Earlier this year, in addition to all the help he consistently provided as a skilled handyman, he took on a significant dual role of project manager and carpenter/painter to transform my home’s interior. In true professional form, Dave came in on time and within budget. The result is exceptional!

Dave is not only a competent craftsman and project manager with a strong work ethic, but he is also a kind, respectful, and considerate human being who is eager to help in any way he can whenever he can. I was sad for myself to see him move out of state, but ever so grateful that he showed up when I needed his skills and abilities.
